To succeed in fashion, you need to know the greats who’ve helped shaped it. Not only will the industry expect it, this knowledge will inspire your own creative process and help inform your own career path. This is not a definitive list, so we encourage you to do your own research and discover more.
Alastair McKimm is currently the Fashion Director of i-D, as well as contributing to Self Service, Vogue Italia and Interview. His talent for creating clean, precise looks has gained the attention of designers such as Saint Laurent, Anthony Vaccarello, Calvin Klein, Jil Sander and Alexander Wang, who request him for their campaigns, consultations and fashion shows. He has also collaborated with photographers such as Craig McDean, David Sims, Mario Sorrenti, Willy Vanderperre, Inez and Vinoodh and Paolo Roversi, amongst many others.
Best known for: His luxury meets streetwear aesthetic as well as high profile designer collaborations.

Edward Enninful is the current editor-in-chief of British Vogue, as well as former style director of W magazine and fashion director of i-D magazine. His position at i-D began at 18 years old, making him the youngest ever editor of a major international fashion magazine. Edward was originally scouted as a model for magazines including Arena and i-D, which led him to assist Simon Foxton and Beth Summers on shoots. During this time he was introduced to i-D’s founder Terry Jones, who took him on as fashion director. During his formative years, his work was often inspired by London’s club scene in the 1980’s. His fashion stories are known for having a strong narrative and one of Edward’s most influential works is Vogue Italia’s July 2008 ‘All Black’ issue, featuring only black models, which became the magazine’s top-selling issue.
Best known for: Disrupting the status quo at major fashion magazines, incorporating art, strong narrative and diversity into his fashion stories.

As fashion editor-at-large at Love magazine, Panos Yiapanis is celebrated for his fashion forward editorials and signature youth-culture inspired aesthetic. He has worked closely with the likes of Rick Owens, Vera Wang, Dsquared2 and Ricardo Tisci, shooting regularly with Steven Meisel, Nick Knight and Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot amongst others. He has contributed to magazines such as Vogue Italia, Harpers Bazaar, AnOther and W.
Best known for: Dark youth culture driven aesthetic and hand made studio pieces

Patti Wilson is a New York based stylist and Editor-at-large at Vogue Italia, recognised for her eclectic taste and fresh perspective on fashion. She has worked with photographers such as Steven Miesel, Sarah Moon, Peter Lindeberg, Patrick Demarchelier, David LaChapelle and Nick Knight, contributing to magazines such as Italian Vogue, i-D, Numero, and Harpers Bazaar throughout her career.
Best known for: Vivid, provocative images with a sexually-charged energy.

Olivier Rizzo has consulted for Prada, Raf Simons, Calvin Klein and Christian Dior. His editorial work is best known for its subtly subverted naturalism. He has worked with industry leading photographers including Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot, Steven Klein, WIlly Vanderperre and Alasdair McLellan, featuring regularly in fashion publications including: AnOther Magazine, Arena Homme Plus, L'Uomo Vogue, Vogue Hommes International, Numéro Homme, POP, i-D Magazine, V-Magazine, V-Man and Japanese Vogue.
Best known for: References of historical subcultural youth within his editorial work
Katie Grand is the founding editor-in-chief of Love magazine as well as senior contributing fashion editor at Interview magazine. She is also a highly regarded stylist and creative consultant, as creative director of the womenswear, menswear and beauty campaigns for Marc Jacobs. She has styled numerous Louis Vuitton runway shows, and has worked with a number of other major brands including Prada, Armani and Dolce & Gabbana. Throughout her career she has also contributed to publications including Arena Homme Plus, Visionaire, Vogue Nippon and Harper’s Bazaar.
Best known for: Her candid, counterculture-inspired styling with a tongue-in-cheek, British twist.

Simon's styling career began whilst working with i-D Magazine, where he was introduced to photographer Nick Knight. The two have worked together successfully ever since on may projects. Other than i-D, Simon has regularly shot for numerous Menswear Magazines such as Arena Homme Plus, GQ Style, V Man, Vogue Hommes International and Fantastic Man, where he is the former Fashion Director. He has also been Fashion Director at Showstudio.com during its formative years. Notable clients include Stone Island, Nike, Adidas, Top Man, Hugo Boss and Marks & Spencer. Simon has also been a creative consultant to many high street menswear labels, particularly Levi Strauss, Caterpillar Clothing, Karrimor and Converse.
Best known for: Being one of the first stylists working within the industry, referencing the street, club culture and diversity when casting.

Lotta Volkova is recognised as one of the new generation of stylists in the industry most notable work is her ongoing consulting with Demna Gvasalia at both Vetements and Balenciaga. She began styling through meeting photographer Ellen Von Unwerth, who she worked with on various editorial and commercial projects. She is the current Fashion Director for Re-Edition Magazine and Man About Town Magazine. Lotta has collaborated with photographers including Harley Weir, Juergen Teller, Gosha Rubchinskiy and Andrew Miksys to name a few.
Best known for: Her ‘hyper-normal’, raw take on styling, as well as modelling her own looks on the Vetements runway.

Jason Rembert is a New York based stylist, best known for his close working relationships with celebrities including the likes of Rita Ora and Zayn Malik. His work has been published in some of the world's largest fashion magazines, including Elle, Paper and Vogue. He describes his aesthetic as "a mixture of classic style with a fresh, modern twist". He believes his success is down to a mixture of pure determination despite a lack of resources, along with the ability to build strong working relationships with celebrities and clients.
Best known for: His close working relationships and personal styling for celebrities on the red carpet.
